Each combines great food, local wines & beers, and memorable adventures based around your desired level of activity and interests.
Apple Picking: Start your day off at a local orchard in Claverack, NY after your homemade breakfast at the Inn. Right across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, Philip Orchards grows 15 varieties of fresh apples to fill your basket! Apples are just the start. Pick-your-own pears, or grab some raspberries, plums, tomatoes, and even free-range eggs.

Lunch at Crossroads Brewing Company: After you’ve worked up an appetite apple picking, head to the Crossroads Brewing Company in Athens, NY for some refreshing, craft-brewed beers and ales. Dine within view of the vats where all that brewing magic happens. Enjoy delicious menu items like local grass-fed burgers, beef brisket sandwiches, Crossroads wings, fresh local salads, homemade soups, and even cheeseboards.

Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Tour: After lunch, take a quick boat ride out to the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse and explore the fall foliage in the Catskills from the Hudson River! A visit to the nationally historic lighthouse provides a glimpse into the lives of lighthouse keepers of their time. Visitors can explore the two-story family dwelling with many points of interest, including the tremendous 360-degree view from the catwalk outside of the lantern room. The Tannersville Antique & Artisan Center, with nearly 20 selected vendors, is the newest addition to New York State’s historic Catskill Mountains. "Wonderful place to stay!" Reviewed April 30, 2017: The Fairlawn inn is a wonderful place to stay on Hunter mountain. The atmosphere was friendly. Our room which was the Mountain Dew was clean and nicely decorated. The food was excellent with rave reviews from all the guests...
"Incredible" Reviewed February 5, 2013: I stayed at Fairlawn Inn during my skiing trip to Hunter Mountain; I must say that I didn't expect it to be SO good! The house itself is a beautifully restored Victorian mansion.
